The task is to create conditions so that the quality of life does not decrease with age
At the opening ceremony, the first to address the guests and participants of the Forum was the Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Oleg Ergashev. He read out a greeting from the city governor Alexander Beglov.
"For the 15th time, the Forum brings together doctors and social workers, scientists and cultural figures, government and business representatives on one platform, everyone on whom the well-being of older people depends. The city has built an effective support system for elderly residents of St. Petersburg: a social taxi, an emergency service for veterans, an alarm button, a nurse service, and rental points for rehabilitation equipment. These and other initiatives are successfully working to improve the life quality, allow you to increase the comfort of the urban environment, taking into account the real needs of older people," wrote Beglov.
The greeting from the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko was read by the chairman of the regional Committee for Social Protection of the population Anastasia Tolmacheva.
"In a rapidly developing world, concepts that are intuitive to those who have grown up with technology may be alien to the older generation. Our task is to take care of the elderly. To create such conditions that the quality of life does not decrease with age. I am sure that the Forum will launch new promising projects, promote the introduction of innovative solutions," wrote Drozdenko.
At the end of the ceremony, Sergey Voronkov, CEO of EF-International Ltd, made a speech.
"After a two-year break, it is doubly pleasant to open today's Forum. The slogan of ExpoForum is "Towards Opportunities". And we really try to create opportunities for the older generation. When people ask me which of our annual events is the most optimistic and life-affirming, I always say without a doubt that only in the "Older generation" you will receive a charge of vital optimism, cheerfulness, an active life position," said Voronkov.
