23rd Hipposphere International Equestrian Exhibition Opened in St. Petersburg!

A four day long festival of equestrian sport and horse breeding — Hipposphere — started up on June 10 in the DERBY equestrian club! On the first day already visitors could enjoy a diverse show on the riding arena: a parade of breeds, performances of off horse riding skills professionals, dramatized equestrian shows and — for the first time ever — a motor equestrian show! Guests of honor from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region came to greet the visitors.

Oleg Malashchenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Leningrad Region, Chairman of the Committee for Agro-Industrial Complex and Fisheries, emphasized that from year to year the Leningrad Region had ranked among the organizers of the largest and only event of such a scale in Russia — Hipposphere. “This project contributes a lot into popularization of equestrian sport and horse breeding in our country,” he said.

Viktor Loktionov, President of the Equestrian Sport Federation of the Leningrad Region, also greeted guests and participants. “Nowadays horses are not workforce, but sport companions and loyal friends. Unfortunately, horse breeding and equestrian sport might become luxuries because of sanctions: foreign partners have stopped supplying horses and equestrian gear. We may not allow any deficit, so now its is more important than ever to hold specialized exhibitions, to promote our national breeds of horses, to develop our own industry,” he said.

Viktor Loktionov read the words of Marina Sechina, a President of the Russian Equestrian Sport Federation. She expressed her respect to the project for many years of its work, constant development and transformation to adapt to any conditions. Marina Sechina acknowledged a significant contribution of the Hipposphere Equestrian Exhibition into popularization of the industry in Russia.

Anastasia Stefanskaya, a Vice President of the Equestrian Sport Federation of St. Petersburg, thanked the organizers of the project on behalf of the organization’s President Andrey Lyulchenko: “Over 23 years, Hipposphere has long outgrown the status of an exhibition to become one of major events in the industry. To discuss urgent issues, to work out recommendations for professionals, to promote solutions — these have always been trademarks of the event. We are sure that equestrian sport will win new devotees!”

Sergey Sklyarov, Associate Professor of the Heavy Animal Husbandry Department of the St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, joined the greetings: “I’m so happy to see our students as volunteers and our alumni as participants here, at Hipposphere. Young and future specialists learn about new modern husbandry and veterinary technologies and approaches from their colleagues as part of this project. I’m so glad that the University has such a reliable partner as the Hipposphere Exhibition.”

The speech of Laura Migel, Director of Hipposphere, was short. She addressed the visitors of the Exhibition: “Thank you for being here today! We have tried to create a festival for you, and the weather favors you. I wish everyone good mood and unforgettable emotions!”

One speeches of guests of honor has come to an end, St. Petersburg singer Larisa Lusta came to the arena. She performed a few songs about Hipposphere central figures — horses. The singer herself confessed that she had never missed the Exhibition. “It is on a horseback that the person entered civilization,” Larisa added in conclusion.
