We’ve just arrived and someone says ‘Here they are again!’
From 15 to 23 February, the international fair of modern graphic art ‘Ponaehali!’ will be held in the Expoforum convention and exhibition centre.
The exhibition association ‘Perm Fair’ will unite 300 artists from 17 countries and 50 Russian cities, who will present their own works in the largest art salon. Taking part in the exhibition will be galleries, graphic artists, sculptors and masters of decorative and applied arts. At the fair you will be able to learn about the work of famous artists and also purchase any piece on show.
As part of the exhibition, you will be able to visit the Festival of Nonconformist Art by Pushkinskaya 10 Art Centre and the popular ARTEFAKT geek culture artefact zone by AK Gallery and the Soyuzkomiks community of collectors. This is a mobile museum of original art and exclusive comics, cult film posters, Soviet board games, playing cards and rare books and magazines.
In the lecture hall there will be a series of meetings with the artist Nikolai Tsvetkov, a screening by the Museum of Nonconformist Art, a concert by Dmitri Shubin on a mini piano and a great many lectures and masterclasses.
The famous Russian collector, Marat Gelman, will present works by Ukrainian artists from his personal collection under the general title ‘Ukrainian File No. 1’ and the gallerist will read the lectures ‘Confessions of Marat Gelman – host Lev Lurye’ and ‘Why collectors buy this’.
Besides this, you will be able to see two Andrey Makarevich exhibitions. The first, ‘Potop’ (Flood), is a joint project with expressionist artist Alexander Galitsky. The second project, ‘Five o’kot’, is a painting of a tea set, made with a special design in cooperation with the Imperial Porcelain Factory.
‘PONAEHALI!’ is a national art celebration, a place where residents and guests of St. Petersburg can broaden their horizons and relax. All art lovers are welcome!
