In January, Paris was the backdrop for a meeting of the project working group, including representatives of the leading exhibition associations from around the world: UFI (world association), AAXO and EXSA (South Africa), AEFI and CFI (Italy), AEO (Great Britain), AFE (Spain), AUMA and FAMAB (Germany), CEFA and CENTREX (Central Europe), EEIA (European Union), IAEE and SISO (USA), IECA (Indonesia), IEIA (India), LECA (Lebanon), PCEI (Poland), RUEF (Russia) and UNIMEV (France).

The group meeting formulated general principles, the work schedule for “World Exhibition Day” and possible forms of project participation. “The goal of the project is to attract greater attention to the exhibition industry, while highlighting the importance of industry exhibitions to the progression of business and international cooperation,” said Sergey Alexeev, Vice President of ExpoForum International, President of UFI, President of RUEF.

The “World Exhibition Day” project is aimed at spotlighting the importance of exhibitions to local companies, the role of exhibitions in the expansion of trade and internationalisation, innovation and enterprise competitiveness. At the same time, “World Exhibition Day” must become a milestone event for people working in the exhibition industry that provides inspiration for new accomplishments and opens important acer opportunities.
