Expoforum opened the exhibition-fair “Agrogrus-2017”
On 22 August, the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre opened the 26th International Agro-Industrial Exhibition and Fair “Agrorus.” The event combines the exhibition of the agro-industrial complex enterprises, business programme for industry specialists and a fair of regional products.
The St. Petersburg Vice-Governor, Sergey Movchan, greeted the agrarians with the opening of the fair, noting that “these people are working from their heart.” “When they feed our country, we will be able to export a tasty product without additives to other countries, and our brands will be there. I wish you happy fulness and a tasty life!” he said.
The exhibition participants were greeted on the villager holiday by Sergey Yakhnyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Leningrad Region Government, Chairman of the Committee on Agro-Industrial and Fishing Complex. He said that “Agrorus” for the Leningrad Region remains the most important exhibition. He noted: “The regional enterprises today are the main participants in the exhibition and are ready to show their achievements.”
Agriculture for the Pskov Region is one of the priorities for development, as announced by the Deputy Governor of the Pskov Region, Sergey Pernikov. The region has been among the leaders for the last three years for the Northwest in production of agricultural products. Pernikov thanked the agrarians “for necessary and demanded labour.”
The Deputy Governor of the Vologda Region, Mikhail Glazkov, spoke on behalf of the region. “For slightly over three hundred years we and the Leningrad Region have gone shoulder to shoulder, cooperating in many spheres, in education, medicine and economics. Today, we want to not only show our goods face to face, but also share problems and discuss painful points,” he said, noting that the brand “Real Vologda Product” uniting over 3,000 product names has been operating already for 14 years.
The Minister of Agriculture and Reprocessing Industry of the Krasnodar Krai, Fedor Dereka, reported that the grain harvest in this southern region was completed today. He greeted the exhibition participants and invited them to the International Exhibition “Yugagro” that will take place from 28 November through 1 December in Krasnodar.
The history of development of the “Agrorus” exhibition was told to the guests by Vice-President of ExpoForum International LLC, Sergey Alekseev: “25 years ago, everything began from the project ‘Russian Farmer’, and now ‘Agrorus’ is one of the leading exhibitions.” Alekseev noted that most of the exhibitors are Russian and Belarus companies. “Success and good contacts! Let the exhibition become Number One in the world,” he said.
As Sergey Voronkov, CEO of ExpoForum International LLC, noted, agriculture in recent years has been the “flagship in the development of the Russian economy.” He stated that companies participate in “Agrorus” from 13 subject entities of the federation, Belarus, Latvia, over 1,300 farms and industries, in the business programme there are over 3,000 specialists, while the purchasing centre is visited by representatives from 40 networks and 30 restaurants.
At the end of the gala opening ceremony, the delegation of honorary guests made an official tour of the display. The tour participants were shown diverse products of the “Agrorus” exhibition and fair, including the new model of the Kirovets K-424 tractor, equipped with state-of-the-art Russian economical diesel engines, new type of squash from the Federal Research Centre of the All-Russian N. I. Vavilov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources, bread products from Petra+, dairy products from Piskarevsky molochny zavod, meat products from Velikoluksky myasokombinat, parmesan cheese from Kabosh in Velikye Luki and many more.
The exhibitors joyfully greeted the honorary guests with folk songs and treated them with bread and salt, allowed them to try the cheeses, sausages and yogurts and told about the new developments at the regional enterprises.
“Agrorus” exhibition will be open from 22 through 25 August and demonstrates the achievements of small and medium agricultural farms. A street fair with natural products from the regions will run through 27 August.
