The Industry Experts Have Been Determined Trends to Influence Development of the Pet Supplies and Services Market in 2024

The Round Table “Pet Business in Russia: Adaptation or Growth”, organized by RBC St. Petersburg within the business program of the Annual Specialized Exhibition Zooindustria-2024, took place at the EXPOFORUM on February 28.

It was participated by the leading industry experts: Nikolay Bespalov, Development Director of the Analitical Company RNC Pharma; Lyubov Bocharova, Development Director of the VIC Group of Companies; Kirill Dmitriev, Chair of the Governing Council of the Pet Industry National Association; Denis Eremenkov, Director of the FAVA plant, Lyubov Zhvirblis, Head of the AlphaPet Trade Marketing Department; Serge Ivanov, Marketing Director of Petshop; Vladimir Sotnikov, Chair of the St. Petersburg Veterinary Society, Chief of Medicine at Sotnikov Veterinary Clinic of Neurology, Traumatology and Intensive Care; Aleksandr Khlyntsev, Marketing Director of NITA-PHARM.

Summing up the results of the past year, experts noted that in Russia, 2023 was the year of the pet industry transformation related to the revision of logistics chains and suppliers, new requirements for the import of veterinary medicines. Despite this, many participants positively assess its results. So, according to the survey conducted by Zooinform, almost 70 % of market players call it more or less successful – from “acceptable” to “the most successful in the company’s history”. According to NielsenIQ analysts, sales in the pet products industry grow, as well.

During the discussion, experts also considered challenges that have retained their influence in 2024, and the industry prospects.
