The Ecology of a Megapolis forum will include a business program aimed at resolving issues of environmental protection in large cities.

On 17 September, at the Current Issues with Dealing with Production and Consumption Waste conference, discussions will be held regarding the current state and prospects of the development of a management system for the entire production chain; from the creation of the waste to its recycling into a secondary product, and the creation of a state information system (SIS) on treating class I and II waste, batteries, ultraviolet lamps and much more. The moderator will be Yekaterina Ozerova, deputy chairwoman of the council of directors of the St. Petersburg Association of Recycling and member of the Expert Council on Developing Industry and Innovative Technologies for Processing Production and Consumption Waste under the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

The conference “Current Issues Regarding Wastewater Treatment at Transport Facilities” (17 September) has been set up as a novel, creative platform for communication and discussion on the main systemic issues affecting businesses. This event will help to achieve a special synergy: enterprises and business communities will be able to communicate with industry experts and discuss current issues affecting the treatment of wastewater in passenger transport enterprises and the creation of a comfortable urban environment. The moderator will be Mikhail Strakhov, head of the water resources department of the Committee for Nature Use, Environmental Protection and Ecological Safety of the Government of St. Petersburg.

On 18 September, the Ecology of the Urban Environment: Successful Experience of Solving Environmental Problems in European Countries. Applicable Practices for Russia conference, dedicated to the use of food waste, solving problems relating to the use of various waste categories using European and Russian eco-technologies, recycling waste into useful secondary raw materials and energy resources, and using hospital waste within medical institutions. The moderator will be Svetlana Kuropatkina, member of the board of a management company in a cluster for the development of recreational sport and activities in St. Petersburg and the Northwestern Federal District.

At the same time, Pavilion F of the Expoforum convention and exhibition center will host the Ecology of Big City exhibition, from 17 to 19 September. The exhibition will involve organizations and enterprises offering services in the fields of environmental protection, ecological safety, technology and equipment: Certification association Russky Registr, LLC ECOSERVICE-SPB LLC, Chistograd Plus LLC, Zavod KDM LLC, Tapflo Company LLC, Inters LLC, GARANTIYA LLC, MASEL LLC, Docservice Center for Ecological Services LLC, EcoStyle LLC, EcoStandard Group Moscow, Umnaya SREDA and a collective stand by the international consortium “Clean Innovative Technologies”.
