The assembly unanimously elected Sergei Voronkov, General Director of ExpoForum International, to serve as the President of the RUEF. He will replace Sergei Alexeyev, who founded the Union and has been its president for 28 years.

In his speech, Sergei Voronkov thanked the members of the RUEF for the trust they had placed at him, and assured the members of the Union that he would do his best “to make the Union the most prestigious forum in the industry that will not only respond to trends but set them for the rest of the world”.

In his summary report, Sergei Alexeyev spoke about the key events in the history of the Union and thanked all the members for their years of productive service. Sergei Alexeyev was unanimously elected first Vice President of the RUEF.

The Executive Director of the RUEF Elena Ubliyeva talked in her report about the results achieved in 2019. She also presented a work plan for 2020 with three strategic directions: attraction and engagement; effective communication and lobbying; knowledge management.

The annual election meeting of the RUEF followed an open format and included educational and communication sessions within the MICE Networking Forum. The Forum was held on 12 and 13 December.

The election meeting was followed by the “Kaleidoscope of Events” Gala Dinner.
