The leading players of the energy market have gathered at the site of the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center. RIEF has traditionally brought together industry corporations, government bodies and scientific communities; it is a powerful communication platform that develops the introduction of modern technologies in the energy sector.

The opening ceremony was attended by Elena Zheltukhina, Vice President of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She emphasized the importance of holding exhibitions for the North-West region of Russia, since they are the key tool for establishing contacts: “Here you can present your developments and expand product markets thanks to the exchange of business contacts. And exhibitions definitely help with this. Especially after last year showed us the most important thing - the importance of "live" communication! "

Dmitry Nikitin, General Director of VO RESTEC, thanked everyone who could attend such significant events for the industry, the North-West region and the country as a whole.

Sergey Voronkov, General Director of Expoforum-International, paid attention to the positive impact of synergy on the industry.

“These are the first events dedicated to the topic of energy and industrial innovations after the pandemic. And this cannot but rejoice. Moreover, they are taking place on the eve of 2022, when we will be holding the anniversary Energy Forum. Today's events - from the point of view of power engineering - are the locomotive of the industry of St. Petersburg, one of the key competencies. That is why the St. Petersburg Technical Fair, the exhibition "Energy and Electrical Engineering" and the RIEF are held together. In 2022, St. Petersburg will host the World Energy Congress, and in 2023 - the 20th International Conference and Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas - this is a recognition of the role that St. Petersburg plays in the field of energy and power engineering. I think our city can confidently claim the status of the energy capital of Russia. All conditions have been created for this. We host all the leading events related to the gas and energy industries, and I am sure that by 2024, when the whole world celebrates the 100th anniversary of the World Energy Council, St. Petersburg will be able to become a platform for the anniversary event, "summed up Sergey Voronkov.

In 2021, the RIEF is being held in a hybrid format. Specialists from the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Slovakia, France, Poland are taking part. The Russian International Energy Forum and the specialized exhibition "Energy and Electrical Engineering" are held together with the St. Petersburg Technical Fair and the Exhibition of Innovative Projects HI-TECH at the Exhibition and Convention Center "Expoforum" until April 23.
