Following global transformations in the industry of business events the RIEF Organizing Committee decided to hold the Forum in a hybrid format.

On December 1–3 offline events held by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation will take place in the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Center: a Personnel Conference; a ceremony of awarding the winners of competitions for the best socially oriented company in energetics and the oil and gas industry; awarding of laureates of the international competition of scientific, research and technical, and innovative developments aimed at development of the fuel and energy and extractive industries.

Participants of the Personnel Conference will raise relevant topics of human potential development considering challenges of the digital age, as well as social responsibility of energy and oil and gas companies.

Special attention will be paid to the youth policy of sectoral companies. At the thematic panel discussion experts will discuss creation of conditions for implementation of targeted programs for work with young specialists; address issues of career guidance for pupils, adaptation and development of the youth.

Simultaneously with on-site events on December 1–3 conferences on the main areas of RIEF 2020 will take place in an online format: modern technologies of electrical energy generation and its alternative sources; innovative energy solutions for eco-systems of cities; key aspects of regulatory policy and tariff setting; use of the modern high-voltage equipment, environmental aspects of the Russian FES and other things.

A new hybrid format of RIEF 2020 will allow not only working as efficient and safe as possible in the current epidemiological situation, but also expanding the possibilities of participants – any volunteers either from Russia or from other countries will be able to join despite closed borders. For the period of offline work all necessary safety measures and conditions will be observed to maintain the social distance.

RIEF 2020 will take place with the assistance of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the State Duma, the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Government of St. Petersburg.
