Gazprom and Shell Signed the Baltic LNG Technical Concept Agreement
On 4 October, on the sidelines of SPIGF the companies signed a document on the development of technical concept of the Baltic LNG.
The agreement was signed by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom, and Maarten Wetselaar, Integrated Gas & New Energies Director, Member of the Executive Committee, Royal Dutch Shell.
The commissioning of a liquefied natural gas production plant is planned for 2022-2023. The enterprise will operate in the Leningrad region in the area of the Ust-Luga sea port.
It is expected that the markets for LNG would be the countries of the Atlantic region, the Middle East, South Asia, and the markets for small-scale LNG can be in the regions of the Baltic and North Seas.
