Representatives of FES and Ship Building Industry Met in EXPOFORUM

On October 6–9, the H pavilion of the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre hosted OMR-2020, the 4th International Exhibition and Conference on Shipbuilding and Development of High-Tech Equipment for Exploring the Arctic and the Continental Shelf, along with Power & Electrical Engineering 2020, the International Trade Exhibition of Power & Electrical Equipment and Technologies.

The Power & Electrical Engineering Exhibition is one of the best venues in Russia to demonstrate the novelties of power equipment for industrial facilities and constructive dialogue between specialists of all economic branches and manufacturers and suppliers of power, electrical and lighting equipment and technologies.

The first day started with the work of the presentation area where a representative of Algoritm Ltd told about overheat of power cables, electrical equipment binding, false alarm of relay protection and automation devices and automatic protective devices. Besides, SKB EP presented devices for control and diagnostics of power circuit-breakers, transformers made in Russia.

On October 7 business session Cable Business 2020 took place where the following issues were raised: localization of maritime-purpose products for Arctic regions, automation and digitalization of the industrial enterprise, creating of the first flexible drill string in Russia, flame-resisting cable links, cold-resistant cables for the Arctic climate and marine crafts, losses and energy-saving at industrial enterprises. Speeches were delivered by Olga Drugova, Chief Commercial Officer of Polimerplast and Polimerholding; Fyodor Voronin, Marketing Director of CableStar; Sergey Koroteev, Head of the training centre under the Expert-Cable Cable Plant; Pavel Tsvetkov, Director of the Sevkabel Research Institute, and others.

The plenary session “Strategic Goals and Priorities for Sustainable Development of the Russian Arctic” became a key event of OMR-2020. Its participants were greeted by Yury Borisov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Beglov, Governor of Saint Petersburg. During the event the award ceremony of the International Competition of Scientific, Technical, and Innovative Developments took place. The competition was held in the framework of the Executive Order of the Government of the Russian Federation AD-P9-7748 p. 8 of December 19, 2016, with the assistance of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation (No. KM 12185/15 of November 01, 2017)

In the course of 3 days 5 roundtable discussions were arranged: “Innovative Oil and Gas Projects on the Shelf of the Global Ocean”, “Infrastructural and Industrial Aspects of Reclamation of the Russian Arctic and the Continental Shelf”, “Providing Sustainable Development of the Northern Sea Transport Corridor”, “Creating the Modern Fleet for Reclamation of the Arctic and the Continental Shelf of Russia”, “Energy Sufficiency for Reclamation of the Arctic Area: Optimization of the Fuel and Energy Balance Structure”. In the framework of the Business Program technical seminars were held on facilities of the Northwestern Federal District with manufacturers of marine materials and accessory equipment, as well as introductory negotiations of the Lazurit Central Design Bureau.

On October 7 specialists of Gazprom PJSC’s subsidiary companies, teachers, students and postgraduates of universities where specialists are trained for work on the shelf of Arctic seas took part in the youth session.

The poster report of the Marine Branch of the FSBE Russian Federal Geology Foundation was dedicated to primary and interpreted geological-geophysical data on major basins/offshore areas of Russia available to the Foundation.

Expositions of the Power & Electrical Engineering Exhibition and OMR-2020 featured companies of the global scale: ROSTR Engineering Company; CERTEX International Concern that manufactures goods for lifting, moving and fastening the cargo; PriST – a supplier of devices for electrical measurement, radio measurement and a change in parameters of the environment; the Central Scientific Research Institute of Automation and Hydraulics; the Krasnodar Plant of Reinforced-Plastic Goods; the ART Engineering Centre; SONEL; the Nizhny Novgorod Research and Production Association named after M.V. Frunze; Relpol S.A.; Industrial Components KAMAZ; INBRES; the Aquamarine Scientific and Production Centre; the Uglichcable Plant; the Mikhnevsky Plant of Electrical Products; the Sevmash Production Association (Northern Machine-Building Enterprise); the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex; Rosneft Oil and Gas Company, and others.

The stand of the Export Support Centre presented small and middle-sized businesses of the Leningrad Region a wide range of support measures and tools aimed at launch and development of export activities, growth of export deliveries and introduction of products and services to new foreign markets.

Holding two projects simultaneously provided an opportunity to explore three relevant topics of national priorities and gather key experts, representatives of business and authorities at one place to discuss the current situation and the main areas of development for the industry under the current conditions, to demonstrate new samples of electrical products and services for industry, construction, transport and public utilities.

Events were visited by over 4,500 specialists from Russia, South Korea and Germany. 95 exhibitors from 38 Russian cities, as well as companies from Spain, Poland and Finland took part in the exposition.

This year the Power & Electrical Engineering Exhibition precedes the 8th Russian International Energy Forum that will take place on December 1–4 to be a largescale communication platform for strengthening of trans-regional and international ties, which is particularly important in 2020.
