International pure-bred cat shows are organized by the feline clubs “Bastet”, “Varietta”, “FeliCity” and “Irida”. More than 20 cat breeds are being presented to judges and visitors, including Maine Coons, Burmese cats, British short-haired cats, Devon Rexes and many others.

Spanish mastiffs, English setters, spitzes and other dog breeds are competing for prizes at breed exhibitions, arranged by the “Sirius”, “Sozvezdie” and Independent Canine League canine clubs.

Show-competitions in agility, fly ball, pitch & go, frisbee, frisbee freestyle and obedience are taking place on specially equipped grounds. Four-legged friends can try various cat and dog foods and tasty treats in the pet restaurant, and their owners can listen to feeding recommendations from the experts.

This year, the “Melian” and “Russian Polecat” decorative polecat clubs have prepared an interesting exhibition and entertainment program. The “Rodent Festival” exhibition is taking place in a separate section – there’s expert examination and contests in which dwarf rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils, decorative rats and chinchillas take part.

The Exo Zoo Petersburg community and Exoteque petshop have brought exotic animals, living in all parts of the world, to the exhibition. There are more than 100 reptiles being presented to visitors – pythons, boas, lizards and frogs – as well as dozens of rare kinds of insects.

You can see a llama, pony, goose, sheep and other rural animals raised by people in the “Homestead” section of the exhibition. A broad entertainment program on stage has been organized for the youngest visitors – children can color in glass pictures, take part in contests, dance in giant soap bubbles as well as ride a camel, reindeer, horse or pony. Anyone can buy animal food or accessories for his or her beloved pet at the pet goods exhibition.
