First AutoBloggerShow held on November 7–8, 2020, in Saint Petersburg has come to an end. The show was organized by RK Media, EXPOFORUM International, the Transregional Contact Center and Velgutsgarage.

“We held first AutoBloggerShow and managed to gather well-known automobile bloggers, experts of the industry and a lot of car enthusiasts, travelers and many other people together at the event. We showed some vehicles that we considered unique and granted unique emotions to people: excitement about projects and show cars made by bloggers, excitement about expeditions undertaken by those cars, as well as excitement and warm feeling of nostalgia for classic Soviet cars. We demonstrated the most diverse cars, many of which were one-of-a-kind. We are sure, it’s a start of a long and interesting journey. We’ll definitely go on working in this area to arrange many other fascinating projects,” Alexey Valkov, a representative of AutoBloggerShow’s organizers, noted.

Over 120 means of transport took part in the exhibition part of the Show, including legendary retro classics of the Russia, American and German car industry, exhibition show cars, actual participants of car expeditions, counting off-highway vehicles, professional sports cars and designer's tuning projects of famous Russian automobile bloggers.

OffroadSPB presented a unique Bentley built by Jagger Garage, a car service center focused on custom car assembly.

As for the smallest cars presented at the exposition of the Show, there was an Oka fully converted for living in it by Veliky Vasya; a 1968 SMZ S-3A built by the Serpukhov Automobile Plant and exhibited by Velgutsgarage, and a mini Volga by AMI.

The highest car of AutoBloggerShow was BIGZHIGA by the Carville automotive repair school. The jury of the Russian Book of Records recognized it the highest Zhigului car of modified structure that had also ridden over 32 cars during an hour to set the first record in its kind. Grigory Burlutsky, a regular pilot of the Carville Racing sport racing team and a participant of the Russian Circuit Racing Series, was in a driver’s seat of unique Zhiguli.

The Typhoon off roader deserved the title of the one with the largest wheels at AutoBloggerShow, since their diameter was 165 centimeters.

The exhibition featured cars that once had taken part in actual automobile expeditions: three cars belonging to Bogdan Bulychev (Best Blogger, winner of the Moscow Mayor Cup, the first Internet Award; and the first person in the world who had reached the North Pole on a bicycle), particularly, two Arctic Toyotas and the black Land Cruiser 200 – a tuning project by SHIKARI fully born on YouTube. Also, there was Toyota Land Cruiser 200 (that had already endured 11 expeditions, three of them – to the Arctic) of Sergey Saiman, an automotive traveler and blogger, and a Lada Granta of Karelopithecus that had made it from Petrozavodsk to Kaliningrad in 60 days.

Also, at AutoBloggerShow auto racing was represented with rally clubs that arranged retro rallies, such as Leningrad or Rally of the World, as well as with cars of the Ladoga Trophy International Off-Road Festival.

“Participation in such events gives a completely different experience than one obtained online. It’s an opportunity to look at other people’s projects ‘from the inside’, an opportunity to gain experience from your counterparts. You’ll never see it on YouTube. In this respect, offline is irreplaceable, and it’s necessary to take part in it at least once a year,” blogger AcademeG (Konstantin Zarutsky) commented his participation in AutoBloggerShow. He demonstrated his famous projects in the framework of the exposition of the event: an Antigelic (UAZ Hunter) and a ZIL car with a 600-horsepower BMW X5 engine.

At the session “A Voice of Garages” speakers discussed trends of the global car industry; innovations in automobile construction and their application in production of series models; prospects of auto tuning development and rules of car modification certification. Interest to autotourism has increased significantly in Russia over the last years. It’s linked with a few factors: the import of foreign cars to the Russian market has grown; cars have become more comfortable and reliable; there are more and more young people among motorists. Also, it’s pretty important that a whole area of autotourism has emerged with people who promote this kind of leisure activities.

In the framework of the session on autotourism extreme travelers and motorist bloggers shared their experience of travelling comfortably by various means of transport and driving development of this sector in Russia. The event was attended by Dmitry Drozd, founder of the Wildway project; Sergey Saiman, a researcher, traveler and blogger; Bogdan Bulychev, a blogger and the first person in the world who had reached the North Pole on a bicycle; Sergey Lobarev, President of the All-National Association of Autotourism and Caravanning; and Pavel Sadchikov, a member of the Work Group on Autotourism Development in Russia under the Committee on Physical Fitness, Sports and Youth Affairs of the RF State Duma of the Federal Assembly.

“Any developments should be started with your own self. To achieve large media reach you need to create a quality product. The main objective of an influencer is a desire to make others ‘get on their feet from a coach’ and turn to action,” Bogdan Bulychev noted in the framework of the session.

The exhibition part of the event featured a stand of A-Glamp, a comfortable and stylish eco-camp for glamping located in the Leningrad Region.

Prospects of auto racing were discussed during the session “Floor it” that was attended by Andrey Pankovsky, Chairman of the Russian Automobile Federation Classic Car Committee; Dmitry Ovchinnikov, Head of the Ladoga Trophy International Off-Road Festival; Lina Arnautova, Media Director and Head of Press Service of the Silk Way International Rally; Evgeny Soroka, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Automobile Federation Classic Car Committee; Kyury Usmanov, organizer of the Rally of the World motor rally; Alexander Terentyev, Head of the Leningrad rally. Presentations and fan meetings where bloggers talked to the audience in an informal setting were attended by AcademeG (Konstantin Zarutsky), Batya (Vitaly Orekhov), Sergey Saiman, Bogdan Bulychev, Siberian Beard, Vladimir Garage 54, NK_Kolesa (Viktor), Iling Show, Master Mehanik and Maks Zhluktov.

“If you want to create YouTube is for you. In my opinion, it’s a platform to promote your talents. However, it’s important to remember that to attract and engage viewers on your channel you need to be involving and charismatic,” blogger Batya (Vitaly Orekhov) noted speaking about prospects of the modern blogging.

Also, an interactive area for games arranged by Cyber Legacy, a partner of Business Priority, an innovative platform of the Roscongress Foundation, functioned at AutoBloggerShow. Guests of the event could visit a VR zone to feel like race drivers with a help of a steering wheel simulator, entertain themselves with classic games on PlayStation 4 or just relax in the Cyber Legacy lounge area. A feeling of a cybersport festival was reinforced with striking cosplayers who looked as if they had come to the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Center from computer games.

“Car brands actively ‘enter’ the cybersport industry finding new audience here. Cybersport marketing experts develop successful integrations even for the premium segment,” Vladislav Grechkin, CEO of Cyber Legacy, comments. “Our participation in AutoBloggerShow is another step toward synergy of various industries, various interests and audiences.”
