The Exhibition has been held in various countries since 1975, and this year it will be held for the first time in Russia. More than 250 suppliers and manufacturers of innovative products from China have presented their novelties.

Leo Mo, Vice President of the CHAOYU EXPO RUS Organizing Company, was the first to speak at the Exhibition opening ceremony.

«Russian-Chinese relations have reached the level of strategic partnership. In 2023, the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 26% and reached 240 billion US dollars, which is a historical record. Strengthening business ties between Russia and China will bring new opportunities for trade development», said Leo Mo.

According to him, the International Exhibition of Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances IEAE 2024 not only promotes innovations and economic development, but also changes the way people live. Smart gadgets appear in every home all over the world. They have become an indispensable driver of socioeconomic development.

The Vice President of CHAOYU EXPO RUS also believes that the Russian market of household appliances and electronics has great prospects for growth.

Dmitry Panov, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, representative of the General Council of the All-Russian public organization «Delovaya Rossiya», stated that Russia and China have reached an unprecedented level of trust, and the opening of the Exhibition is another sign of respect and interest in each other.

«Russian-Chinese relations are distinguished by comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction, continuously being enriched with new content. They are of the equitable, confidential nature, and meet fundamental interests of our countries’ peoples. Bilateral cooperation is developing dynamically in all areas, serves as an important factor in maintaining stability in global politics and economy, as well as sets a good example of meaningful mutually beneficial interstate dialogue during the new era», said Panov.

He added that due to the role played by China in foreign relations of St. Petersburg, one of the priorities of the Legislative Assembly’s international policy is developing relations with regional parliaments and other Chinese authorities.

Sergey Voronkov, General Director of EXPOFORUM International, President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF), recalled the ancient Chinese wise saying that the journey of a thousand li begins with the first step.

According to him, the International Exhibition of Consumer Electronics and Household Appliances IEAE 2024 is the first step towards strategic cooperation between Russia and China in the convention and exhibition field.

«It is no coincidence that this is St. Petersburg that hosts the first in Russia exhibition of Chinese electronics and household appliances. The city is the birthplace of new Russian-Chinese relations. 10 years ago, the first strategic cooperation agreement between Russia and China was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The first in the country Russian-Chinese Business Center, which also has its office in Shanghai, operates in St. Petersburg. It generates the infrastructure to supports all contacts between Russian and Chinese businesses until they turn into contracts», said Voronkov.

The International Exhibition of Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances IEAE 2024 takes place at EXPOFORUM, in Pavilion F, on August 20–22. Free shuttle buses run from Moskovskaya Metro Station to the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Center.
