Pedagogical council assembled teachers from the leningrad region to Expoforum

ExpoForum on 22 August opened the regional pedagogical council “Leningrad Region: from High-Quality Education to a Successful Person.” Teachers and school directors from all regions of the 47th district came to the event.

The head of the opening ceremony, journalist from TRC “Channel 5,” Roman Gerasimov, noted that the pedagogical council is “a meeting with a large pedagogical family” dedicated to discussing what is success and how should modern education be changed.

This is the third year in a row for the Pedagogical Council at ExpoForum on the threshold of a new academic year, as mentioned by the Deputy Chairman of the Leningrad Region Government for Social Issues, Nikolai Emelyanov. “I wish you health, creative success, love of your students and that we are worthy representatives of education of the Leningrad Region in Russia,” he noted in greeting his colleagues.

The Chairman of the All-Russian Pedagogical Assembly, Valentina Ivanova, and Nikolai Emelyanov awarded the winning teachers in the contests and categories “People’s Recognition,” “Teacher of the Year,” “Educator of the Year,” “First-Class, the Most First-Class,” “Best Leader of an Educational Organisation,” “For Moral Exploit of a Teacher,” “Librarian of the Year.” The representatives of the pilot sites for development of the Russian Movement of School Children (RMSC) received letters of appreciation for the year-end results.

An important event of the pedagogical council was the signing of cooperation agreements. The Governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, and the head of the “Talent and Success” foundation, Elena Shmeleva, signed a document that could help identify and develop talented children in the 47th region. The foundation’s experience will be used to create a Regional Centre for identification and support of gifted children together with St. Petersburg State University. As A. Drozdenko noted, a gifted children’s Centre will appear in the region like the Tsarkoselskoye lycée: “Children will be able to study 5 days a week, go on field trips on Saturday and spend Sunday with their parents.”

Yet another agreement between the Leningrad Region government and the publishing house Prosveshcheniye was signed by the regional head and the President of the Managing Company Prosveshcheniye, Vladimir Uzun.

The day’s programme plans for a gala awards ceremony of the Ministry of Education of Russia, a speech “From High-Quality Education to a Successful Person” and a discussion with interactive voting.

The exhibition is operating “Innovations and Successful Practices in the Leningrad Region Educational System-2017.” Its participants are partners of the pedagogical council: higher educational institutions, technical schools, publishing houses and educational companies that provide services, textbooks and interactive booths.

The pedagogical council participants may participate in diverse workshops: from polymer clay modelling to first aid.
