Young farmers discuss the agroindustrial complex of the future
On August 28, representatives of student scientific societies (SSS) presented their advanced developments at the Round Table «Best Practices of SSS: Research and Efficient Solutions for Agriculture in Terms of the Region» held as part of the AgroForum «Young Scientists and Active Youth. Development of the Agroindustrial Complex, Rural Tourism and Rural Areas» at the 33rd International Agroindustrial Exhibition «Agrorus».
Student scientific societies unite active young people. They take part in scientific ecological expeditions, initiate scientific brunches with a battle of smart ideas, play intellectual lotto on a certain topic – all this was told us about by Vlada Oleinik, Chairperson of the Student Scientific Association at Kaliningrad State Technical University.
St. Petersburg State Agrarian University also intends to play when studying work and business. Vladimir Matveev, Deputy Head of the AgroNovus Student Scientific Society at St. Petersburg State Agrarian University, presented the game «Agromanager». It will take place in the field, and each participant will be able to manage his/her own agricultural event.
This game is twice relevant, since in the modern world, the role of agricultural organizations becomes increasingly important for ensuring food security. «Over 40% of people worldwide suffer from hunger and low-quality food products. This seems to be far from us, but in future, it may affect us, as well. Ensuring food security is one of priority activities in our state, and, to my mind, we need to coordinate solution of the problem with friendly countries. And the solution is expanding the territory for growing healthy food», said Galina Aleksandrova, Deputy Head of the Student Scientific Association of the Faculty of Law at St. Petersburg State Agrarian University.
For solving urgent agricultural problems, students – representatives of SSS – presented a number of their own developments, from production of feed additives made of recycled feed waste to tools for applying unmanned technologies. Some of them are ready-made startups.
