Youth Day at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum brought together experts from 11 countries

Youth Day kicked off as part of the 9th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum. The event is being held within the framework of the Forum for the fifth time.

Number of participants is growing from year to year. This year, Youth Day was attended by representatives of 11 countries, including young gas specialists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain, Italy, France, Hungary, Belarus, Bolivia, China, Russia and other countries. In total, more than 500 applications for participation in Youth Day were submitted in 2019. 223 students received invitations to take online training courses at the Virtual Academy under the program "Gas in Energy Balance".

This year, Siemens and Schneider Electric, as well as the Energy Delta Institute, became partners for Youth Day for the first time. Head of Department 715 of Gazprom PJSC Elena Kasyan delivered a welcoming speech addressing the participants of the event. “We understand that young people are the future of Gazprom,” – she said.

Background: Youth Day is an informational, educational and interactive platform designed to bring together representatives of the industry business elite and youth audiences from the world's leading universities to transfer new knowledge about the energy business and find new ideas and solutions.    

Youth Day participants are talented graduate and postgraduate students from around the world, influential experts and leaders of major international energy companies, and representatives of the academic community.

The event is traditionally organised by the Higher School of Economics of St. Petersburg State University of Economics.
