The Fashion Industry Trade Fair opens in EXPOFORUM for the first time

The opening of the 52nd Fashion Industry International Trade Fair of textiles and garments took place on October 10 in EXPOFORUM. The event was organized by FAREXPO Exhibition Association and the Committee for Entrepreneurship and Consumer Market Development of St. Petersburg.

Designers, heads of industry manufacturing enterprises and representatives of industry-specific schools gathered to discuss issues of the development of the fashion industry and fashion trends, as well as to learn business secrets of leading professionals and experts in the fashion market. This year, over 150 exhibitors took part in the trade fair.

    

Elgiz Idrisovich Kachaev, Chairman of the Committee for Entrepreneurship and Consumer Market Development of St. Petersburg, gave an opening speech at the ceremony. He noted the importance of this kind of event, not only for the city, but for the country as a whole: “I hope that this trade fair will be a landmark for all of Russia. Recently the Government of St. Petersburg recognized the project “St. Petersburg – Center of the Fashion Industry” as a top-priority. Its development involves many of the city's committees. For example, even today seminars of specialists from different countries are being held with the support of the Center for Entrepreneurship, while we send our designers to Italy, France and Belgium. We are supporting their desire to be a part of big fashion business. We will further develop production, create new work places and promote the image of the city and our designers. The Fashion Industry International Trade Fair of textiles and garments is one of the cornerstones to realize this project.”

Sergey Georgievich Voronkov, Director General of EXPOFORUM International LLC, greeted guests of the trade fair and noted that it’s a one-of-a-kind event in the Northwestern Federal District. It’s highly appropriate that it will be held in EXPOFORUM, a state-of-the-art congress and exhibition venue, and a finalist of the Top 25 list of Event Venues and Destinations in the world, from this year onward.

All participants have three intensive convention days ahead of them, including trend tours, seminars and the work of the Economic Forum of Fashion Industry.

This year participants of the trade fair include such brands as: ALBERTINO, Blueberry nights, Complices SA, CREDO, ELNY, FREEAGE, LADY SHARM, Nina Vikont, Pareson, Belteks, Galanteya, Machaon, RIA Moda, St. Peterburg Neznakomka Fashion House and others.
