Personnel in the shipbuilding industry will be discussed at the Maritime Congress in Vladivostok
On May 30, as part of the Congress, the Strategic Session «Personnel in Shipbuilding and Shipping: State Policy and Regional Aspect» will be held, moderated by Mikhail Krivopal, Vice-Rector for Additional Education at the Far Eastern Federal University.
The Session will present the results of the specially organized industry survey on the current situation related the personnel in the maritime industry both in the Far East and throughout Russia.
The partner of the Session «Personnel in Shipbuilding and Shipping: State Policy and Regional Aspect» is HeadHunter, one of the largest job and employees search websites in Russia and the CIS countries.
The event is held for the purpose of discussing ways of overcoming the personnel shortage at enterprises of the marine industry in the Far East. The problem of the shortage of qualified specialists has worsened against the background of dynamic development of the shipbuilding sector in the region, the need for import substitution of technologies and industries, the sharp increase in cargo traffic from other regions of Russia, establishment of new logistics hubs and transport corridors. According to experts, the situation in the Far Eastern Federal District is aggravated by the insufficient number of specialized educational institutions, the lack of developed socio-economic infrastructure and often uncompetitive wages, compared to other regions of the country.
The discussion on the venue of the Maritime Congress in Vladivostok will be dedicated to issues of state policy aimed at ensuring the steady influx of professional labour resources into the domestic maritime industry. The Session participants will also discuss capacities of the Far East in solving the personnel issue, given the geographical, economic and demographic situation of the region.
At the Session, the speakers will be Lyudmila Talabayeva, member of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management; Ksenia Averina, Director of hh.ru Far East; Tatyana Popova, Head of the Department of Human Resources Development at the Corporation for the Far East and the Arctic Development; Aleksander Vaino, Head of the Centre for Youth Initiatives at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) for Promotion of New Projects, Anton Pashkov, HR Director at the Transport FESCO Group, and other invited experts. Representatives of the Far Eastern Federal University, Admiral G.I. Nevelskoi Maritime State University and St. Petersburg State Marine Technical University will talk about current areas of education and training of regional specialists in shipping and shipbuilding, and give examples of successful projects of interuniversity cooperation.
In course of the Session, the following issues will be discussed:
