The art of tuning and drive: The Royal auto show opened in Expoforum
On 21-23 July in St. Petersburg, the spectacular international Royal Auto Show 2017 takes place. This year it assembled a record number of participants with over 500 vehicles on display in ExpoForum.
The Royal Auto Show is a notorious event in the car life of St. Petersburg and Russia, the only show of its type. The geography of the project expands every year and in 2017 participants came here from Estonia, Switzerland and Finland.
“This event is on a European scale with a high level of organisation,” says the show organiser Denis Belov. “We are trying to maintain the bar and constantly surprise people.”
He states that this year’s show novelty was a helicopter, which could fly the exhibition guests. Additionally, “drift taxis” are operating, a trip with a driver in a “drift” car in a special street is at high speed with controllable skids.
“For the first time in St. Petersburg we have a real monster truck [a truck with large wheels and a powerful engine] that will crush cars on Saturday and Sunday,” said Denis.
The exhibition displayed cars of different models, price ranges and years of manufacture: from mass-produced cars to luxury supercars. They included Ford, Toyota, BMW, Infiniti, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce and others. Electric cars, Tesla and Renault were also present.
Touring was given a separate area in the show: cars with external and internal modifications to give the model a unique look.
The most expensive model at the exhibition was the Take Heli helicopter with a cost reaching 1,000,000 Euros.
In a special open area of the exhibition drifters “burn rubber,” while the best stunt drivers, the extremes of motorcycle sports, demonstrate head-spinning stunts on motorcycles.
Every day at the famous auto exhibition in St. Petersburg there will be contests, while the girls battle for the title of Miss Royal Auto Show.
On the weekend of 22-23 July, there will be monster truck appearances and an extreme show. The guests will be able to find tasty snacks in the food truck area, where there is also a chill-out with a hookah.
The organisers promise surprises and an evening party in honour of the anniversary Royal Auto Show X.
