Famous SPbSUE Alumni Meet at EXPOFORUM
The Second Forum of the alumni of St. Petersburg State University of Economics took place on 22 March in St. Petersburg. Former students – now businesspeople and officials – came to meet the students from one of Russia’s leading universities and share their success stories. The Forum was attended by some 1,500 people.
The goal of the Forum was to create an active community of interesting and successful people who started their career path within the walls of SPbSUE and have achieved success in various areas of activity. The university ranks 6th in terms of the number of graduates serving on the boards of major Russian companies (among a total of 600 Russian universities) according to the RAEX-600 rating.
This year, the Forum brought together Russian and foreign alumni of the University for the first time. The central theme of the meeting was “Universities in the Economy of the Future: Challenges of Our Time and Leadership Experience”. The programme of the Forum included a plenary session, a meeting of the Board of Trustees of SPbSUE, a number of sessions hosted by business and information partners of the university in various areas of economic development and education, and an entertainment programme.
During the meeting of the Board of Trustees of SPbSUE, a series of important strategic agreements were signed that will allow future graduates not only to gain useful experience at leading enterprises of Russia, but also give them real jobs after their graduation from the university. One such agreement was signed with the National Media Group, which provides partnerships during events held at the University, and joint implementation of information and analytical projects, educational events and participation of the parties in major educational projects.
“Cooperation in the sphere of information between a modern university as the supplier of current business information and one of the largest players on the national media market will undoubtedly create a powerful synergetic effect, and will help develop the strategic potential of both parties”, Igor Maksimtsev, Rector of SPbSUE, said.
The first forum of the University’s alumni took place in 2018 and brought together more than 1,000 participants.
