To replace 200,000 items of critical imports, we need a communication factory

Sergey Voronkov, Director General of ExpoForum International, told the journalists of the purpose of the reboot of the Russian Industrialist Forum-Exhibition and advantages of parallel events format.

“This year the Russian Industrialist Forum-Exhibition has new organizers: Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Traditionally, the co-organizer was the government of St. Petersburg,” said Voronkov.

Sergey Georgievich also explained how exhibitions and forums help develop the domestic industry and contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives for import substitution, digitalization and attracting human resources for industrial enterprises.

“In order for factories and plants to start manufacturing new products that will replace foreign analogues, we need to conclude at least a million new contracts. We need to replace 200 thousand items of critical imports. To do this, we need a communication factory where contacts will grow into contracts. The Russian Industrialist is such a platform,” said Voronkov.

Director General of ExpoForum International emphasized that the current forum-exhibition differs from the previous ones both in its format and scale. The number of exhibitors and regional representation has increased. Despite the difficult geopolitical situation, the Russian Industrialist confirmed its international status. Representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Latin America gathered in EXPOFORUM.

Voronkov noted that several other large events (Sfitex, TRANSTEC, St. Petersburg Scientific and Educational Salon, etc.) are held in parallel with the Russian Industrialist, and explained the advantages of this simultaneity.

“These industrial events were previously held at different times and at different sites, splitting the audience. Now they are held at one venue. Today it is important to establish new cooperative ties, including cross-sectoral ones. That’s why it’s important to have different industries represented in one place. There are more than 10 at the Russian Industrialist. Next year’s plans are even more ambitious. Industrial exhibitions will occupy all three pavilions. One will be the Russian Industrialist, the other will be an exhibition of the pulp and paper industry, and the third will be an exhibition of the food industry. As a result, we will hold the largest industrial event aimed at B2B interaction. Millions of contacts will grow into millions of contracts,” he said.

The Russian Industrialist International Forum-Exhibition will finish its work on December 1.
