Atlases of Equestrian World Won Over the Audience

The finale of the Second Virtual Exhibition of Draft Horses was viewed more than 5 thousand times literally in two days...

On October 28, during the livestream of Atlases of Equestrian World best of the best were chosen!

The event received large feedback from horse farm businesses and private owners who demonstrated 43 horses: Vladimir, Soviet and Belgian Heavy Drafts, Byelorussian Harness Horses and Tinkers. The online format also let residents of remote regions take part in the event: Kaliningrad, Oryol, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir Region and Smolensk Region, as well as the Republic of Belarus.

All contestants had previously sent photos and videos of their horses pacing and trotting, and in a zootechnic stand-up from both sides. The expert commission had studied all the materials in advance to assess each participant. Specialists of the All-Russian Research Institute of Horse Breeding served as experts: Anna Borisova, PhD in Agriculture, Senior Research Associate of the Selection Department of the All-Russian Research Institute of Horse Breeding, Chief Registrar of heavy draft breeds; Natalya Belousova, PhD in Agriculture, Senior Research Associate of the Selection Department of the All-Russian Research Institute of Horse Breeding, a Registrar of the State Stud Book for the Vyatka Breed; Olga Miroshnichenko, veterinarian, Republic of Altai, Maiminsky District, Maima Settlement.

The undeniable convenience of a virtual exhibition is that professionals assess horses live with detailed comments for photos and videos. Participants are presented by age, and after each ring a finalist and a champion of the breed were named.

Results: stallion Hermitage won among representatives of the Soviet Heavy Draft; he-horse Schengen – among Vladimir Heavy Draft; he-horse Valuyev – among Byelorussian Harness Horses; she-horse Sofia Van De Koten – among Belgian Draft Horse (Brabancon); she-horse Eluna – among Tinkers (Irish Cob). He-horse named Hermitage (Soviet Heavy Draft breed) became a champion of the exhibition “Atlases of Equestrian World”.

The viewers created special mood for the exhibition – they actively commented the competition, support their favorites and gave generous praise. The owners also did their part:

“Thank you for an opportunity to take part in such an important event. These are our first marks for exterior, and I’m so proud of my animals! Everything was so interesting and exciting. We’ll be happy to take part again,” Irina Khotyan, Grodno (Belarus).

“Thank you so much for holding this exhibition! It was so nice to hear an outside opinion, especially from experts! It’s also nice to realize a level of competition for our breed. A great advantage of online events is their easy accessibility. No medical notes or transport permissions are required. There’s no need to go anywhere and cause stress for the horse. I liked the event a lot! We’ll go on growing, working to correct our mistakes and waiting for the next exhibition,” Maria Vlasova, Minsk (Belarus).

The results of the voting for the Audience Award of the virtual exhibition can be found in the group of the Hipposphere International Exhibition.
