5000 food products are represented at the exhibition in St. Petersburg

Peterfood-2017, the main food exhibition of the Northwestern District of Russia, opened in EXPOFORUM on November 15, with more than 200 supplier companies and 100 representatives from retail chain purchasing departments from 10 Russian cities taking part.

The Business Program of the exhibition was dictated by the challenges that participants of the food market face today. Industry experts say that the assortment must be adapted to new customer opportunities, searching for investment resources, supporting the price-to-quality ratio, preserving and developing business. The organizer of the exhibitions, Imperia Congress and Exhibition Company traditionally cooperates with the Chains Purchase Center in organizing the Big City Trade Forum, and manufacturer competitions “Our Brand,” “Innovative Product,” and “Chains Choice.” The company also holds open seminars for market specialists under the auspices of the Committee for Development of Entrepreneurship and the Consumer Market of St. Petersburg. As part of the event, representatives of X5 Retail Group, Magnit, Metro, Auchan, Dixie and more than 40 other chains will hold negotiations and enter into contracts with suppliers of practically every category of foodstuffs. As of today, more than 4,500 negotiations regarding deliveries of products have already been planned.

During the three days, the guests of the exhibition will study 5,000 types of new foreign and Russian products, which could be added to the product line of the city’s retail chains and stores. These products include unusual pastry and meat products, dairy products, processed foods, snacks, various beverages, and much more.

Last year, Peterfood brought together 6,700 specialists from across Russia. This year, the exhibition area increased by 30% to more than 3,500 square meters. The geography of the participants has also expanded considerably, with representatives from 22 Russian cities and 13 countries taking part, including participants from Libya, China, Moldova, Tunisia, Poland, Hungary, and other countries.
