300 years of work without interruptions for wars: the Imperial Porcelain Factory with its new collection «Generals of Great Victories»
The Imperial Porcelain Factory (IFZ) within the SPIGF-2023 showed its new collection «Generals of Great Victories», created together with the State Memorial Museum of A.V. Suvorov.
The collection to be presented to the SPIGF-2023 participants included sculptures of outstanding generals Aleksander Suvorov, Mikhail Kutuzov, Petr Bagration, Mikhail Skobelev, Aleksey Brusilov and naval commander Fyodor Ushakov. The exhibition was timed to coincide with the National Unity Day.
The sculptures of the generals are executed in biscuit (unglazed porcelain) and differ in detailed elaboration of the costume and striking portrait resemblance.
Anatoly Danilov, the IFZ leading sculptor, said that work on the collection began back in the pandemic. The consultants were experts from the State Memorial Museum of A.V. Suvorov.
«It’s not the first time I've dealt with military uniforms from these eras. I seem to know a lot, but experts often corrected me in small things – small details and buttons. This was the case with every sculpture. Since the heroes are from different eras, not one expert participated in this process, but several, and they often argued among themselves. In the end, opinions converged, and the result was this collection», shared Anatoly Danilov.
«The IFZ does not sell dishes, but emotions to connoisseurs of beauty», said Konstantin Enikov, Commercial Director at the company.
«The Imperial Porcelain Factory, the history of which began back in 1744, has been recording key events in the history of Russia for almost
300 years. The IFZ did not stop its activities for a single day, despite all the difficulties, and even during the war years. This is not only the industrial enterprise that produces wonderful high-quality porcelain, but also an art workshop that captures historical events», says Konstantin Enikov.
According to him, all production facilities are 100% loaded.
«There was a sense of uncertainty: how will the economy and the consumer behave? Time has shown that Russian art and Russian porcelain will always be in demand. Moreover, the new conditions even gave us an advantage: the public, who considered Western production to be a benchmark, changed their minds and looked at our products in a new way. We have practically no competitors in Russia, and there are only a few in the rest of the world», noted Konstantin Enikov.
He added that today the factory with its legendary past is optimistic about its future, preserving unique technologies for centuries and helping customers of its products get good emotions and vivid impressions.
