Investing in Convention Real Estate Requires the Development of Transport Systems
On June 20 ExpoForum representatives participated in a roundtable titled, "Investing in infrastructure for convention tourism,’’ that was organised by the newspaper, Construction Weekly.
The meeting focused on how often the city can make significant and large-scale international events, such as the St. Petersburg Economic Forum; and it discussed how many venues are needed to host such large-scale events, and how much time is needed in order for investments in convention and exhibition infrastructure to become profitable.
The panelists included Alexander Grishin, vice president of the Guild of Managers and Developers; Pavel Goncharov, director of the PROEstate International Investment Forum on Real Estate; Katerina Lisina, director of external relations for the 63rd World Congress on Real Estate, FIABCI; Violetta Kuznetsova, project manager for Visit-Petersburg.com; and others.
ExpoForum marketing director, Olga Shestakova, said: "Questions of construction of convention real estate are gradually being solved in the city. Now is the time to concentrate on building infrastructure, especially transport, for these sites. In particular, the city should recognize the need to build underground metro lines to the future convention and exhibition centre, and make the necessary adjustments in plans for the extension of the metro system."
