2021: prosperity of pet products business
From 4 to 5 March, the II International trade fair of goods and services for pets in the North-West region of the Russian Federation “Zooindustriya” was held at the site of the Expoforum convention and exhibition center.
This is the first event in this year specially organized for pet-industry products. More than 70 companies from Russia, Belarus and Germany took part in exhibition and presented wide range of products: pet food, feed additives and treats, care products and litters, grooming products and accessories. In exposition part were presented such regions of Russia as: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Omsk oblast, Perm oblast, Novosibirsk oblast, Bashkortostan, Murmansk oblast, Altai Krai, The Republic of Adygea and Stavropol Krai.
On 4 March during opening ceremony guests and participants were welcomed by Angela Lopatinskaya, Deputy Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of St. Petersburg, Kirill Dmitriev, Chairman of the Pet Business Commission at the Russian public organization of small and medium-sized enterprises "Opora Rossii", and Alexander Ulyanov, Deputy Director-General for Commercial activity of the company ExpoForum-International.
In two days Zooindustriya was visited by 2,300 specialists: groomers, breeders, veterinarians, shop owners and representatives of companies specializing in goods and services for animals. The master classes and the grooming festival “Cup of the Neva” gained attention and high assessments from the visitors.
For those who could not take part in the "Zooindustriya" on February 17 Business Contact Center was organized online under the name "International Business Meetings of the Zooindustry", where 12 companies from Spain, Ireland, Holland, Estonia and regions of Russia presented their pet products.
Special business program in frames of that were organized 20 sessions: busness-presentation, discussion, lectures form breeders and companies’ presentations had a strong resonance. For instance, according to assessment of the head of “Yandex. Market Analytics” Ilya Zinchenko, the market growth rate in 2020 was higher than it was in 2019. He predicted a further 30-45% growth in the e-commerce market in the pet product categories in 2021. On March 4 a business conference on secrets of successful digital projects was held as well. Inna Sivova, marketing director of the CROP media agency, assumed that the most important thing in brand-presentation is “value, not price”. She used experience Purina, HILLS, ROYAL CANIN, Wiskas and other industry giants as examples for digital sales. Svetlana Pushkar, head of the technical department of the Mediasphere group of companies, described the features of website building for home projects. In her opinion, the website is a representation of the company on the Internet; the effectiveness of the entire business largely depends on the effectiveness of the site.
Along with the Exhibition at the Expoforum convention and exhibition center Veterinary Surgical Congress was held. Experts discussed fundamental areas of veterinary, from dentistry and neurology up to cardiac surgery and interventional radiology. By bringing together “Zooindustriya” and Veterinary Congress at the site of Expoforum made it possible to achieve synergy in educational work and combine the development of specialized competencies with the development of the pet business.
