From 2015 Onwards One of the World’s Biggest Marine Exhibitions NEVA Will be Held at ExpoForum
On December 22, 2011 in Saint Petersburg ExpoForum JSC, TRANSTEC Neva Exhibitions JSC and East West Exhibition Management ltd. (EU) / Dolphin Exhibitions ltd. (UK) made a long-term agreement to jointly hold NEVA international exhibitions and conferences on shipbuilding, navigation, port industry and ocean and continental shelf development, for the period through to 2019. Furthermore, a parallel agreement is being planned in relation to TRANSTEC international transport exhibitions and integrated international conferences on ports development and shipbuilding.
In 2013, NEVA will for the last time take place at its traditional venue at LENEXPO. From 2015 and on, the exhibition will be held at the new international convention and exhibition centre ExpoForum, with construction scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013. The exhibition is growing by 15-20% annually. Considering this fast growth by 2015 LENEXPO will be physically incapable of accommodating the NEVA. The new and technically perfect exhibition and convention space that are easily modified for every special event and provided with well-developed infrastructure and circumspect logistics of the complex will help to keep this project of ours at the highest level and open new prospects for development, says Alexander Tikhomirov, the General Director of TRANSTEC Neva Exhibitions JSC.
NEVA is Russia’s leading and one of the world’s biggest civil marine exhibitions. Established in 1991 by joint order of the Ministry of Shipping Industry and Marine Ministry of the USSR, its 20th anniversary celebrated in 2011, the event is currently held once every two years. Over 700 companies from 45 different countries participate in the exhibition with the support of the International Maritime Organization (IMO UN), Community of European Shipyards Association, Brussels (CESA), Ministry of Transport of theRussian Federation, Ministry of Industry and Trade of theRussian Federation, Marine Board of the Russian Government, Saint Petersburg Administration and Maritime Council by Saint Petersburg Administration.
TRANSTEC exhibition was established in 1994 with the support of the Ministry of Transport of theRussian Federation,RussianAcademyof Sciences, Saint Petersburg Administration, branch unions and associations of transport workers. The exhibition is actively supported by the European Sea Ports Organization, Brussels (ESPO), International Labour Organization,Geneva(ILO UN), Coordinating Council on Transsiberian transportation, Switzerland (CCTTS), Marine Trade Association, Maritime Council by Saint Petersburg Administration. The organizers of the event are also associated members of the International Association of Ports and Harbors, Japan (IAPH).
