Days of Industry and Innovations Started in Expoforum

On November 28, the largest specialized convention and exhibition events of the North-West – the 11th St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum and the 22nd International Forum “Russian Industrialist” – started in St. Petersburg. The St. Petersburg International Scientific and Educational Salon, the 21st Corrosion Protection International Exhibition and Congress, the WorldSkills Russia 2018 Regional Open Championship, and Labor&Employment Career Fair are taking place at the same time in St. Petersburg.

    

At the opening of the Innovation Forum and the Forum “Russian Industrialist” that have already been held for 10 years to demonstrate the industrial potential of the Russian regions and the latest innovative technologies and developments, honorary guest gave speeches.

Alexander Beglov, incumbent head of St. Petersburg, greeted the Russian and international participants and guests of events in St. Petersburg.

You’ve come to us with new technologies and offers to improve the lives of residents. Your input in developing national projects will be significant!” he noted in addressing representatives of the Russian regions.

Anatoly Chubais, Chairman of the Board of Rosnano, recalled that St. Petersburg had been born as an innovative project, it is still one and has to move on.

If we want Russia to stay a global power, innovations must be its base. We thank those who consider innovations not mere words, but the future of the country!” he said.

Anatoly Turchak, President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg, called the “Russian Industrialist” Forum that takes place in the Northern Capital for the 22nd time a significant event in Russian life.

Industry is a leading component of the economy of our country, and in St. Petersburg it fills about a half of the budget. I’m sure, our developments will be in demand in Russia and in the world, and we have ample opportunity for that,” the speaker noted.

The Participants in the opening ceremony awarded St. Petersburg enterprises – winners of the 5th annual competition “The Best Innovative Product of St. Petersburg”. Thus, in the category “Best Innovative Product in the Field of Construction, Housing and Communal Services and Composite (Polymer) Materials” the Bars-2 Research and Production Company (1st place), Termotronic (2nd place) and Icaplast (3rd place) were the best. In the category “Best Innovative Product in Sphere of Medicine, Biotechnologies and Pharmaceutics” Biocad (1st place), Laser Technologies Center (2nd place) and ErgoProduction (3rd place) were recognized as the strongest.

The System-Service Research and Production Company (1st place), the Concern CRI Elektropribor (2nd place) and the Speech Technology Center (3rd place) were winners in the category “Best Innovative Product in the Field of Information Technology and Radio Electronics”. Spetsialnoye Mashinostroitelnoye Konstruktorskoye Buro (1st place), the ISTA Research and Production Enterprise (2nd place) and Diacont (3rd place) won in the category “Best Innovative Product in the Field of Machine Construction and Energy”.

The Government of St. Petersburg does whatever it takes to develop high tech workplaces in the city and to provide high wages for its residents,” he emphasized.

A number of important agreements were signed during the industrial-themed events in Expoforum. Thus, Alexander Beglov, incumbent head of St. Petersburg, Anatoly Turchak, President of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of St. Petersburg, and Vladimir Derbin, Chairman of the Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region Trade Union Federation, signed the Agreement on minimum wage level of RUB 18,000 in the city.

Another Cooperation Agreement between St. Petersburg and Russoft non-profit partnership was signed by A. Beglov and Valentin Makarov, President of Russoft.

Honorary guests viewed the exposition of the 11th St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum and the 22nd International Forum “Russian Industrialist”. One of exhibit items is a metal 3D SLM printer by Russian SLM FACTORY that can be used as a tool for fast and cost-efficient additive manufacturing in the national industry, small businesses, science and medicine. The printer’s design components use 3D printing, methods of topological optimization of assemblies and advanced materials. More than 85% of the components of the device are produced with participation of Russian contractors and partners.

At the booth of the Polytechnic University, guests could see the innovative development of the STI SPbPU New Manufacturing Technologies Center – the CML CAR e-mobile concept, its technologies and key components each of which is a best-in-class product with record characteristics.

The cluster of medical, ecological instrument-making and biotechnologies that unites 146 companies with turnover of 16.7 bln rubles as of November 2018 demonstrated inventions of its companies.

The United Shipbuilding Corporation and the Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard showed models of modern ships, including the passenger catamaran (project 23290), which can transport up to 150 passengers distances up to 1,000 km across inland waters and coastal sea areas.

Participants in the events viewed the booths of UEC-Klimov – a leading Russian designer of gas turbine engines for military and civil aircraft, the Baltic Industrial Company that demonstrates advanced turning lathes, a model of a processing center, an additive manufacturing mount with a laser metal powder deposition method and other booths.

Exhibiters include hundreds of enterprises and scientific centers, the Foundation of St. Petersburg Industry Development, Lenpoligrafmash, ITMO High Park, Center of Entrepreneurship Development and Support, the First City Business Incubator, St. Petersburg Technopark and others.
