Sergey Voronkov appointed Chairman of the Commission on Exhibition Activities of the RUIE

Sergey Voronkov, the President of the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs (RUEF) and CEO of ExpoForum International, was appointed chairman of the Commission on Exhibition Activities of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE).

The official statement was published on January 29, 2020.

The RUIE Commission on Exhibition Activities is a consultatory and coordinating body, designed to implement state policy including in relation to the development of exhibition, fair and convention activities in the interests of industrial enterprises and industry-specific communities in Russia.

“The main goals which I would like to achieve as the new chairman of the Commission, are:

  • Participation in shaping government policy, developing legislation and protecting intellectual property in the events industry sector;
  • Support of the export of products, services and technologies and international promotion of the Russian event industry;
  • Launching a new project, ‘Regional Marketing Matrix of Industries’, which will coordinate the calendar of events taking place in Russia, shape the consolidated ideology, content and themes of the expositions and programs and synchronize this with the National projects.

Collaboration between the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs will help to develop the Industry Associations and Organizers.

We have already taken several steps in this area: we organised the First Russian Associations’ Forum in September 2019 which, due to the success of the event and great interest, will now become annual. The First Forum brought together 100 associations representing more than 140,000 product makers. Special guests from AUMA and VDMA shared their experience as experts. The Second Russian Associations’ Forum 2020 will take place in Moscow on 14 May.”

Within the project for creating an industry and marketing matrix of the regions, the RUEF and RUIE, together with the Chamber of Trade and Industry, launched a series of events titles ‘Associations and Exhibitions: Coming Together!’, dedicated to interaction between exhibitions, exhibition organisers and sector associations. The first event in this series was a round table on ‘Agriculture’, which was held on 6 February under the umbrella of the AgroFarm exhibition, where VDNH JSC was a partner.
