Sergey Voronkov: Africa is becoming a strategically important partner for the whole world

Sergey Voronkov, General Director of ExpoForum International, spoke about the importance of developing partnership relations with African countries in an interview at the Russia-Africa summit at St. Petersburg channel studio.

“Africa is becoming a strategically important partner for the world as it is a continent of one and a half billion people. When we talk about the new macro markets that are emerging, for some reason we always think of China and India, but Africa, in the meantime, has a billion and a half people – it is the fastest growing region in terms of population. Even more importantly, Africa is a country that has 30% of extractable resources of almost every kind, from oil to rare earth metals,” Voronkov said.

The Russia-Africa summit, economic and humanitarian forum has been held in EXPOFORUM from July 27 to 28. It was visited by official delegations from 48 African States.
