Festival of luxury and beauty: Junwex St. Petersburg begins in Expoforum

On January 31, EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Center turned into a large jewelry salon. The 26th jewelry and gem exhibition, JUNWEX ST. PETERSBURG 2018 has attracted more than 600 companies, occupying three pavilions of the large exhibition venue.

This is the 26th time JUNWEX is being held in Russia’s Northern Capital, and it is still among the most popular events for city residents. Every year it opens the season of jewelry shows and is celebrated by every fan of jewelry and gems. Visitors come here to purchase gifts for Valentine’s Day, Men’s Day, Women’s Day or Easter; here they choose their purchases directly from the manufacturers.

This year, the Forum brought together 600 companies from across Russia and other countries: Sokolov, Granat, Peraskeva, Smolensk Diamonds, Kabarovsky, Badini, DeFleur, L-Silver, DEN’O, KU&KU, Elizaveta, Force of Nature, KrasTsvetMet, Darvin, St. Petersburg Jewelry Plant, Fillart, Aquamarine and many others.

The exhibition presents designer jewelry, gold and silver articles with precious and semiprecious stones, collections of foreign brands, elite jewelry, fashion accessories, interior souvenirs, decorated weapons, packaging, equipment and tools for the jewelry business. The exhibition of nominees for the Moscow Leg of Carl Fabergé International Jewelry Art Competition – exclusive rings, brooches, necklaces and sculptures – are exhibited in Premium Hall E.

“Today is International Jeweler’s Day, an international celebration. We are happy to welcome back Junwex for the 26th time. City residents love this event. Jewelry manufacturers will present their new spring and summer collections at the event, including thousands of new designer solutions that St. Petersburg residents will appreciate,” declared Valery Budny, General Director of RESTEC JUNWEX Media-Holding at the opening ceremony.

Jewelers from the Urals Region said that the premium segment must become the showcase piece of the exhibition, and amber processors from Kaliningrad welcomed the appearance of “Amber Streets” at the jewelry exhibitions.

Galina Kovaleva, President of Forma International Foundation for Support of Jewelers, noted “a charming combination of various pieces of art, the exhibition event and the city.” There are more and more unique products on the market today, and the premium exhibition will show the skill of today’s master jewelers, she said.

Sergey Voronkov, General Director of ExpoForum International, compared the new Forum with “a diamond necklace”: St. Petersburg is the capital of jewelry art, where the famous Fabergé was born, the event and the venue can also be called “diamonds“ of their own.

We are happy to welcome JUNWEX and the participants of World Skills Championship for young professionals, where we saw connections between generations, when the art is passed from the student to the teacher; that happens with jewelers, too,” Mr. Voronkov said. He also mentioned that JUNWEX had been awarded the highly reputable badge of UFI (Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).

JUNWEX will include a business program as well: The Business Contact Exchange will bring together manufacturers of jewelry products and wholesale buyers, workshops dedicated to trends in jewelry fashion, sales, merchandising, trade promotional events, trends and new products, roundtable discussions and seminars.

On Saturday, February 3, the judge panel will announce the best jewelry companies, winners of Recognition of St. Petersburg, the 26th All-Russian Competition of Jewelers, organized and held in Russia’s northern capital.

JUNWEX ST. PETERSBURG has been held in EXPOFORUM since 2015. In 2018, the exhibition will run for 5 days, from January 31 to February 4.
