Representatives of Gazprom Expo LLC and ExpoForum International organized for the head of the Union a tour of the most advanced congvention and exhibition venue in Europe and Russia.

The honorary guest was shown the capabilitiess of ExpoForum: the halls of the convention centre, the large and small passages, the meeting and recreation areas, the exhibition pavilions (13,000 square meters each), as well as the internal open spaces between them.

Joe M. Kang inspected the Gas Forum exposition, including the 3rd Corporate Exhibition of Gazprom Import Substitution in the Gas Industry.

“I am very impressed with this new modern platform, its scale, convenience and versatility! I am sure that in four years time it will host the World Energy Congress at the highest level!” - he said.

On 4 October, Mr. Kang will speak at the plenary meeting of SPIGF The Role and Significance of Natural Gas in the Energy Balance of the World Economy together with Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, Maarten Wetselaar, Integrated Gas & New Energies Director, Member of the Royal Dutch Shell Executive Committee, Rainer Seele, Chairman of the Executive Board, Chief Executive Officer of OMV, Ulf Heitmueller, Chairman of the Executive Board, Verbundnetz Gas, Weizhong Qin, Vice President of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Keith Martin, CCO Uniper SE.

EXPOFORUM is the most modern platform in Europe and Russia, designed for business and cultural entertainment events of any scale and format: exhibitions, congresses, forums, concerts, film premieres, sporting events, congventions, corporate events. The complex opened in October of 2014 to host the 4th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.

EXPOFORUM is situated close to Pulkovo International Airport, at the highest point of St. Petersburg – Pulkovo Heights, which offers a unique panoramic view of the city. The complex has a complete infrastructure required for a wide variety of events. Its total area is 56 ha.

In 2017, EXPOFORUM, the only representative of Russia, entered the catalog “25 sites for events and destinations to be visited in 2018” according to the world's leading media for event managers EventMB.

In 2018, it was shortlisted for the prestigious British Exhibition News Awards 2018 in the Best International Venue category, shortlisted for the International Building of the Year 2018 award in the Cultural Architecture category organized by the most visited architectural portal in the world Archdaily, and also received the national PROESTATE & CRE Federal Awards 2018 in Moscow in the category "Multifunctional real estate".

From 11 to 15 June 2022, EXPOFORUM will host the World Energy Congress. The event is held every three years bringing together more than 90 countries and is one of the most important events in the global energy industry.
