ExpoForum Began to Implement Principles of Environmentally-friendly Construction

ExpoForum experts completed training for the international rating company, LEED, which is an American certification system that bestows a ``green'' status on a completed structure.

The training, which was organized by the the Green building council Russia, provided a general overview of sustainable construction practices that are the basis for the LEED rating system. Most of the training focused on key LEED indicators and standards.

Anatoly Erkulov, ExpoForum general director, confirmed that his company is actively studying LEED certification in the hope of acquiring it for the new ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre once it is completed.

``We are trying to design the new convention centre to meet environmentally-friendly standards so that we will pass through certification without any extra efforts,'' said Erkulov.
