There are now two companies operating under the ExpoForum brand – ExpoForum and ExpoForum International.
On 9 February 2007, the Government of St Petersburg and Gazprom Group signed an agreement to cooperate on the construction of an international convention and exhibition centre in St Petersburg, near Pulkovo International Airport.
ExpoForum was founded on 18 January 2008 to oversee the construction of a new international convention and exhibition centre in St. Petersburg, near Pulkovo International Airport.
On 1 November 2011, ExpoForum signed a set of contracts with Lenexpo, making it the largest exhibition organiser in St. Petersburg and the operator of the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex.
The ceremony marking the beginning of construction took place on 23 November 2011, when Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee Alexey Miller and St Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko helped to drive in the first foundation pile for what would go on to become the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre.
On 1 October 2013, the company underwent restructuring, as a result of which construction activity remained within the remit of ExpoForum, while the organisation of exhibitions, business events and other major cultural events, as well as the management of exhibition venues, was transferred to ExpoForum International.
Since 2014, ExpoForum International has been the operator of the new EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre.
